Springtime in Oregon

Spring is officially in sight! Spirit Mountain Casino is gearing up to welcome our favorite season, and we’re getting into the spirit with some Oregon pride. Here are a few of our favorite springtime activities in the Beaver State:

Get a Glimpse of Pacific Giants During Whale Watching Week
Whale Watching Week kicks off on Saturday, March 19th. Make for the coast and join other volunteers to spot grey whales as they migrate north for the summer. With more than 20,000 whales expected to pass along Oregon’s shores, you’re likely to get a personal look at the ocean’s biggest mammals.

Experience Spring in Full Bloom at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival
With Mount Hood as your backdrop and forty acres of flowers before you, springtime is at its most picturesque at the wooden Shoe Tulip Festival. Spend the day exploring the tulip fields, sampling wine from the vineyard, and embracing your inner photographer. Pack a picnic or buy food on site and enjoy the colorful flowers surrounding you.

Scout Out Hidden Waterfalls
Almost every Oregonian has a photo of themselves standing on the bridge over Multnomah Falls – but a lot of other special waterfalls are tucked away across the state, too. Check all of these natural beauties off your list and make a road trip out of it. We recommend:

  • Punch Bowl Falls and Metlako Falls in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area
  • Latourell Falls in Guy Talbot State Park
  • Drift Creek Falls and Sweet Creek Falls in Siuslaw National Forest
  • All ten waterfalls in Silver Falls State Park

From coast to waterfall, field to mountain, Oregon is the perfect canvas for springtime adventures. Explore our beautiful state by day, enjoy Spirit Mountain Casino entertainment by night, and get the most out of the new season!
