Spirit Mountain Casino is proud to host the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde Annual Contest Pow Wow, a weekend-long celebration of cultural heritage! Bring the entire family on Friday, August 15 and Saturday, August 16 for this free action-packed event.
Enjoy music and dance at the Annual Contest Pow Wow at the Pow Wow Grounds. Ready yourself for a weekend filled with the beat of drums, traditional dresses, and dancers young and old as they showcase their talent and passion. The event is both an auditory and visual treat. Traditional music and time-honored regalia join forces to create one of the region’s largest contest pow wows.
The Chasta, Kalapuya, Molalla, and Nestucca Rogue River, Salmon River, Tillamook, and Umpqua Indians together comprise the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde. The pow wow is a beloved tradition that celebrates both their shared cultural values and offers an opportunity for the greater Northwest community to join the fun. Whether you’re watching dance contestants vie for the grand prize or listening to the rhythmic beat of the drum circle, one thing is guaranteed: This will be an experience you and your family will remember for years to come.
Make sure you bring your appetite! We will have a variety of vendors with great taste. Savor satisfying meals and thirst-quenching refreshments right from the convenience of the pow wow. You can also enjoy convenient parking and complimentary access from the casino to the pow wow grounds courtesy of the Spirit Mountain Shuttle.
Summer is coming to a close, and there’s no better place to end the season on a high note than the Annual Contest Pow Wow.
