Comedian Don Rickles has logged a number of hours as a funnyman for the past 50 years. He has appeared in the top venues across the world, including the best show rooms in Atlantic City and Las Vegas, as well as authored two best-selling books: Rickles’ Book and Rickles’ Letters. In March, Spirit Mountain Casino will be welcoming the entertainer to the Events Center stage!

Rickles started his comedy tour in 1957 at a small Hollywood nightclub, where Frank Sinatra was in attendance. Eventually, Sinatra would become a big supporter of the rising comedian, which drew encouragement for other Hollywood stars at the time to flock to Rickles’ shows in order to be the coveted subject of his insult comedy skits. But it wasn’t until 1965 when Rickles hit it big on the national spotlight when he appeared for the first time on Johnny Carson’s “Tonight Show,” which caused nationwide publicity. After that moment, Rickles could count royalty and government officials as fans, including Princess Margaret and President Reagan at the height of the 1980’s.

During his career, Rickles has been a popular guest on the morning and late night talk show circuit, with frequent appearances on David Letterman, Jay Leno, Regis Philbin and more. He was awarded an Emmy in 2008 for his role in the documentary, “Mr. Warmth: The Don Rickles Project,” which aired on HBO as an outstanding comedy special. In addition, the entertainer has starred on the big screen, including the animated hit series “Toy Story 1, 2 and 3.”

The funnyman is also known for his charitable involvements, among them, the Barbara and Don Rickles Gymnasium at Sinai Temple in Los Angeles. Rickles won the United States Comedy & Arts Festival’s 2007 Pinnacle Award, as well as TV Land’s 2009 Legend Award.
