The smooth sounds of Motown are coming to the Spirit Mountain Casino this summer as Smokey Robinson joins the summer concert series! Spirit Mountain is proud to host this legendary performer on July 7 with music from his latest album, Time Flies When You’re Having Fun, as well as his classic R&B hits.

Smokey Robinson began his music career as a founding member of the Motown group, The Miracles. Their song, “Shop Around” was Motown’s first #1 R&B single, and during their career, The Miracles continued to dominate the charts with hits such as “My girl” and “You’ve Really Got a Hold On Me.” Smokey Robinson’s career continued as a solo performer where he topped the charts with classics such as “Cruisin.” In addition to creating classic records and hit music, Robinson worked as the Vice President of Motown Records—a title which he held until the sale of the company.

With more than 50 years in the music industry, Smokey Robinson is truly a music legend. Robinson has been credited with more than 4,000 songs and has worked with top artists such as Marvin Gaye, The Temptations and Diana Ross. He has been honored with numerous awards including the Grammy Living Legend Award and Kennedy Center Honors. Robinson has also been inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame. Bob Dylan once called Robinson the “greatest living poet” and Robinson continues to live up to that honor through his dynamic lyrics and memorable performances.
