It’s the clash of the Texans! Country singer and songwriter Tanya Tucker teams up with the boys from Lonestar for one night of honky tonk fun at Spirit Mountain Casino on January 28th. Let's kick up those heels for some great country tunes!
Born in the small town of Seminole, Texas, Tanya Tucker recorded her first hit, “Delta Dawn,” at the young age of 13. The song became an overnight sensation, peaking at Number Six on the country charts and also making a crossover appearance on the pop charts as well. Most notably, the “Texas Tornado” is recognized as one of the best-known female “Outlaw” performers in the Outlaw Country movement that spanned the late 1970’s, cemented by the a controversial cover picture of her 1978 TNT album, which represented a different approach for a country star. Over her career, she’s matured with her music and has notched a number of Top-10 and Top-40 hits and several Country Music Association award nominations. As one of the youngest stars ever to hit the American country scene, Tucker has inspired several contemporary artists in her wake, including Marie Osmond, LeAnn Rimes, and Taylor Swift.
Lonestar is a multi-platinum selling country music group that is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2012. The band announced earlier this fall that original lead singer Richie McDonald is set to rejoin and tour with the group for its overseas visit that will take them from England and Ireland to Switzerland and Germany. Texas-bred, Lonestar is known for its rich melodies and country roots, which has resulted in more than 10 million albums sold since their national launch in 1995, including a number of Number One hits, such as “No News,” “Come Crying to Me,” and of course, the crossover winner, “Amazed.” In 2001, the Country Music Association named Lonestar the Vocal Group of the Year.
Join us on Saturday, January 28th. Doors open at 7 p.m., show starts at 8 p.m., with tickets from $15 to $35 on sale now.
