Commission-free Pai Gow has arrived at Spirit Mountain Casino!
Emperor’s Challenge Exposed is an exciting version of the traditional casino game Pai Gow Poker. Emperor’s Challenge Exposed is a 7-card poker game played with a deck of 52 cards plus one Joker. The Joker can be used only as an ace, or as a wild card to complete a straight, flush, straight flush, or royal flush.
PAI GOW RULES
OBJECT OF THE GAME
Each player is dealt seven cards. The House’s hand is exposed immediately – giving you a better chance to set your hand for a push or a win!
The object of the game is to beat the House by creating two poker hands; a two-card poker hand and a five-card poker hand. The two-card hand must rank lower than the five-card hand. In order to win, the player must beat both the House’s five-card and two-card hand. If the player wins one and loses the other, the hand is a push. If the player loses to both of the Banker’s hands, the Banker wins the player’s wager.
Winning Pai Gow wagers pay 1-to-1 (no commission!).
RANKING THE HANDS
The rankings of the hands are based on basic poker rankings. The highest two-card hand is two Aces, and the highest five-card hand is five Aces. The House must always set their hand according to set rules. These are called the “House Ways”. House Ways are available at the player’s request.
EMPEROR’S TREASURE BONUS
“Emperor’s Treasure” is an optional side bet that does not play against the House’s hand. If your seven cards contain a 3-of-a-Kind or higher, you win!
In addition, if you wager $5 or more on the Fortune Bonus you qualify for an “Envy Bonus”. The Envy Bonus pays you if any another player gets a 4-of-a-Kind or higher in their seven cards.
PAI GOW INSURANCE
“Pai Gow Insurance” is an optional side bet that protects you from the dreaded Pai Gow hand (no pair or better in your seven cards). The lower your Pai Gow the higher the payoff, with a top pay of 100-to-1!
IMPORTANT RULES TO REMEMBER
- Players must be seated in order to play.
- Players may only play one hand.
- A-K-Q-J-10 is the highest straight. A-2-3-4-5 is the second-highest straight.
- The House wins all identical hands (“copies”).
- A player whose two-card hand is ranked higher than their five-card hand automatically loses. This is called a “fouled hand”. Ask your dealer if you have questions about setting your hand.
